As Valentine’s Day approaches,
many people are trying to come up
with the “perfect” gift. You may be
considering a Spa Gift Certificate for that
special someone. Spa gift certificates offer
the ability to help someone look & feel
good. To help you choose wisely and make
this “a Valentine’s Day to remember”, here
are some basic guidelines.
Do your research. Make sure the spa you
may be considering is licensed to operate
and has licensed and well-trained staff. For
example if you want a facial, make sure the
person doing it is a licensed esthetician. If
you want a massage, make certain you are
getting one from a licensed massage therapist
and that the premises has a license from
the health department as well as a
Certificate of Occupancy from the City. If
products are sold, a sales tax permit from
the state comptroller’s office should be
present. If these aren’t visible ask to see
them.
